1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SortaNotes ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SortaNotes is a mobile notes application that automatically extracts tasks, calendar events, and topics from your notes. The App offers:

Free tier with basic note-taking functionality
SortaNotes Pro subscription ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) with unlimited notes, automatic task extraction, calendar events, and smart topic detection

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Trial: New subscribers receive a 3-day free trial of SortaNotes Pro. You will not be charged during the trial period.

Billing: After the trial ends, your subscription will automatically renew at the selected plan price unless cancelled. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Your access to Pro features will continue until the end of your current billing period.

Refunds: Due to the nature of digital subscriptions, refunds are generally not provided after the billing period begins. However, if you believe you were charged in error or experience technical issues preventing use of the service, please contact us at contact@sortanotes.com within 7 days of the charge.

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
All activities that occur under your account
The content you create and store in the App

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

Store or transmit any illegal, harmful, or objectionable content
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
Interfere with or disrupt the service
Violate any applicable laws or regulations

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by SortaNotes and protected by intellectual property laws. Your content remains yours.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SortaNotes shall not be liable for:

Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
Any damages resulting from service interruptions or technical issues
Errors in task detection, event extraction, or topic classification

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

10. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through the App settings.
